About Chef Michael Smith

Chef Michael Smith is one of Canada’s best-known TV chefs and the author of thirteen cookbooks. He’s the host of numerous cooking shows seen on Food Network Canada and in more than 100 other countries.

Chef Michael and his wife Chastity own The Inn at Bay Fortune on Prince Edward Island. Voted one of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, The FireWorks is named for Chef Michael Smith’s 25-foot brick-lined, wood-burning, fire-breathing beast that anchors the nightly Feast.

Michael is a member of the Order of Canada, a Pinnacle Chef of the Year, Prince Edward Island’s Food Ambassador, a best-selling cookbook author, innkeeper, educator, professional chef and home cook. Wood, Fire & Smoke, Chef Michael’s newest cookbook, debuts in May 2025. His cookbooks have all been best sellers, and he regularly travels the globe hosting special culinary events—his TV show “Chef on Fire” Season 2 premiers in 2025 on Bell FEB TV 1.

About Cooks Edge

Adam began his culinary journey in 1998 as a dishwasher at a Calgary steakhouse, progressing to a formal cooking apprenticeship in 2000 and graduating from SAIT’s apprenticeship program in 2003. Over the years, he honed his skills at renowned establishments like the Fairmont Sheraton Eau Claire and as part of the opening teams for acclaimed restaurants such as Rush (EnRoute Magazine’s 3rd Best New Restaurant in Canada, 2008) and Model Milk (2nd Best, 2010). In 2015, Adam turned his passion for knife sharpening into a thriving business, founding The Cooks Edge. A decade later, it has grown into one of Canada’s largest importers of artisan Japanese chef knives, serving culinary professionals and enthusiasts nationwide.
