DEERHURST’S WATERFRONT AND GROUNDS ARE FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF RESORT GUESTS AND HOMEOWNERS. Guests 5 and under will not need to wear a wrist band. Wrist bands cannot be shared between resort guests or outside visitors.
Blue wristbands indicate you have signed an activity waiver to use the recreation facilities (canoes, kayaks etc.) at the Heritage Cottage.
Deposit & Cancellation Policy
A deposit equal to one night’s accommodation is required at time of booking.
FOR RESERVATIONS LEADING UP TO MARCH 16, 2020:
In the two week period leading up to the resort closure on March 16, 2020, Deerhurst recognized that, while travel advisories within Canada nor social distancing measures had yet been mandated by governments at that time, some guests would prefer to stay home and would want to cancel short-term. Any deposits for individual reservation cancellations made at least 7 days prior to arrival were fully refunded according to our regular policy. However for those wishing to cancel within that 7-day period due to their Covid-19 related concerns, Deerhurst set aside its usual policy of deposit forfeiture and extended the deposit as a credit for a future stay within two years.

The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is 13% in Ontario. The new Municipal Accommodation Tax of 4% on accommodation is being implemented by the Town of Huntsville effective April 1, 2019. The tax applies to accommodation only and will not be applicable to food, beverages, activities or other resort amenities that you may enjoy during your stay. This is a mandatory tax that has already been implemented in many other cities in Ontario and will continue to be implemented throughout most of the province over the next 12 months. The purpose of the tax is to enhance the offerings for tourists in the Town of Huntsville and to better promote the town and the surrounding area to new and returning visitors. Just like the HST, the MAT is a government mandated tax that is not directed by Deerhurst Resort, nor is it optional. If you have any questions about the MAT we invite you to learn more by visiting the Town of Huntsville’s website at: https://myhuntsville.ca/MAT
