Grab a hiking trail map at the Experiences Hub and set out to explore Muskoka’s natural beauty — from quiet forest paths to stunning waterfall and lake views, there’s an adventure around every turn.

Step into nature right from the resort! Pick up a trail map at the Experiences Hub and explore Muskoka’s natural beauty on Deerhurst’s very own Lookout Trail (trail starts across from the Pavilion parking lot). For a slightly longer adventure, head out to Deerhurst’s Sanctuary Trail, just five minutes away. Don’t miss the “Step Back in Time” Resort History Trail, lit nightly for an easy, scenic walk that tells the story of Deerhurst through the years.

There’s even more to discover just minutes from the resort! Explore favourite nearby spots like Lion’s Lookout Trail in Huntsville, Limberlost Wildlife Reserve, and the Dorset Fire Tower Scenic Lookout with its sweeping lake views. For something truly photo-worthy, visit Oxtongue River – Ragged Falls, one of Ontario’s top ten waterfalls. There is also access to the Trans Canada Trail nearby!

Two of Ontario’s most iconic parks are right in Deerhurst’s backyard. Arrowhead Provincial Park is just 10 minutes away, where you can hike to Stubbs Falls or take in stunning views from the Big Bend Lookout. A little farther down the road, Algonquin Provincial Park offers unforgettable hikes like the Hardwood Lookout Trail and Track and Tower Trail.

Pro tip: Day-use vehicle permits are required and must be reserved in advance — especially on weekends during fall colour season. Visit midweek for the best availability, and be sure to book early.
