Algonquin Provincial Park – Guided Walk: Beaver Pond Study
August 1st
Join Genevieve and Melanie on this trail to discover how beavers shape and change the Algonquin Landscape. Critter-catching session to follow! Closed-toe footwear is recommended. Dip nets will be provided. Guided walks last about 1.5 hours. Beaver Pond Trail (at km 45.2).

For more than fifty years, Michael Runtz has observed and photographed one of the most iconic and elusive animals of Algonquin Park – the Eastern Wolf. In this highly visual presentation, Michael will discuss his intimate encounters with this animal, including his and his wife Britta’s work behind the scenes of the Eastern Wolf segment of Sir David Attenborough’s Secret World of Sound.

The Algonquin landscape is dominated by these stunning giants, and it’s no accident! Join Kevin to explore their fascinating and often surprising survival strategies of trees. Guided walks last about 1.5 hours. Big Pines Trail (at km 40.3).
Arrowhead Provincial Park – Mindful Hike
August 2nd @ 2pm
It’s clear that nature is beneficial for both our mental and physical health. Take a moment to be mindful of the feelings nature inspires. Tune into your senses as you follow the prompts on this self-guided hike. Record and celebrate your observations in the nature journal provided. All ages are welcome, though children will need support from an adult. Hike Length: 2.6km.

Huntsville Farmers Market
Every Thursday from 9 AM – 2 PM
Located at the spacious Huntsville Fairgrounds, you’ll find an impressive array of vendors selling everything from fresh fish, chicken, turkey, pork, and beef to artisanal cheeses, inspected eggs, and goat products including cheese, butter, and yogurt. The market also features specialty vendors like Pivot Coffee Roaster with their ethically sourced, small-batch roasted beans, Spy Cider House & Distillery offering organic crafted ciders, and I’d Tap That Maple Syrup with their creative maple syrup infusions including spicy hot pepper and vanilla bean varieties.
HMBA Weekly Group Rides
Every Thursday @ 6:30 PM, Starts June 4th
Join the HMBA on THURSDAY nights in the summer for group rides on the Hidden Valley & Deerhurst trails. Show up and ride at any time, then meet back at the parking lot for the social. The ride is open to all genders and abilities. To participate in group rides, make sure that you have a valid HMBA membership or one day pass!
SWS Waterski Show
July 30th, August 13th, 20th, & 27th
Spend your Thursday evenings on the main beach at Deerhurst Resort watching a free water ski show at 7pm. Fourteen skiers and a flyboard demonstration on Peninsula Lake— no tickets needed, just show up!
Huntsville Ribfest
August 14th – 16th
Ribfest returns to Huntsville from August 14–16, bringing North America’s top pitmasters together for a weekend of award-winning BBQ. Enjoy smoked ribs, pulled pork, brisket, BBQ chicken, sausage, and giant beef “Dino” ribs, plus festival favourites like poutine, roasted corn, and bloomin’ onions. With live music all weekend, a Kids Zone, artisans, face painting, a marketplace, and cold drinks, it’s fun for the whole family.
Outdoor Paddle Painting
August 19th
Create your own one-of-a-kind painted paddle at this fun outdoor workshop on Wednesday, August 19, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Kent Park. For $65 per person, you’ll receive a 24-inch wooden paddle and all the painting materials needed to create your masterpiece—no experience required.

Concerts on the Docks
Every Wednesday
Enjoy live music every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm throughout July and August and experience all genres of music from country to jazz, folk to indie, bluegrass to big band. Bring a lawn chair or grab a seat in the park overlooking the Muskoka River as amazing musicians and performers take the stage at Town Dock Park in downtown Huntsville. Enjoy a hands on adventure as you meet Peca Farm’s animal family! You will have lots of opportunities to pet animals inside the barn and outside! There are outdoor games, wagon rides (weather dependent), a weekly kids activity, and tons of photo opportunities for the whole family. Bring along some quarters to use in the feed machines for the animals.

Group of Seven Outdoor Mural Tours

The Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery is a year-round, free public art exhibition featuring 103 recreations of iconic works by the Group of Seven and Tom Thomson. The Main Gallery in downtown Huntsville showcases 38 striking murals displayed on the exterior walls of local buildings.

Join us for a 45-minute guided tour every Tuesday at 6 pm and every Sunday at 1pm from June to August. Our knowledgeable guides will share the stories behind selected murals, the artists who created them, and their powerful connection to Muskoka’s landscape and Huntsville’s artistic heritage.

Stay after the tour for a 60-minute painting class led by a local artist. You’ll receive all materials—paint, brushes, and an 8×10 canvas—and step-by-step guidance to create your own Group of Seven-inspired masterpiece.
