Algonquin Provincial Park – Guided Walk: Beaver Pond Study

Every Thursday

Located at the spacious Huntsville Fairgrounds, you’ll find an impressive array of vendors selling everything from fresh fish, chicken, turkey, pork, and beef to artisanal cheeses, inspected eggs, and goat products including cheese, butter, and yogurt. The market also features specialty vendors like Pivot Coffee Roaster with their ethically sourced, small-batch roasted beans, Spy Cider House & Distillery offering organic crafted ciders, and I’d Tap That Maple Syrup with their creative maple syrup infusions including spicy hot pepper and vanilla bean varieties.

HMBA Weekly Group Rides

Every Thursday

Join the HMBA on THURSDAY nights in the summer for group rides on the Hidden Valley & Deerhurst trails. Show up and ride at any time, then meet back at the parking lot for the social. The ride is open to all genders and abilities. To participate in group rides, make sure that you have a valid HMBA membership or one day pass!

Step into Huntsville’s storied past this fall with Cemetery Tales, part of the Muskoka Heritage Place walking tour series! These immersive tours blend historical accuracy and storytelling, bringing to life the tales of the people and events that shaped our town. Learn about Huntsville’s prominent figures, the lesser-known facts and fascinating events!

Farm Friends

Every Saturday

Fun on the Farm for Little Explorers at Back of Beyond Equine Centre

This hands-on, drop in style activity, invites children, up to aged 8 (with a parent or caregiver by their side) to discover the magic of farm life in a safe, activity based, and environmentally friendly setting.

Farm Friends is a 2-hour adventure where children can learn through farm based play, blending education with fun.  Every activity is thoughtfully designed to develop confidence around animals, spark curiosity, encourage movement and exploration, and develop a respect for nature.

Don’t be surprised if your child forms a special bond with one of the animals and can’t wait to return. At Farm Friends, learning is alive, outdoors, and unforgettable.

Food Truck Wars

September 1st – 30th

Local food trucks are going head-to-head this September — all for a great cause! Visit participating trucks, order their signature Food Truck Wars dish, and help your favourite climb the leaderboard. A portion of every featured dish sold will support Community Living Huntsville, with the top fundraising truck taking home the Food Truck Wars Trophy.

Peca Farm Petting Farm

September 3rd – 5th | Reopens for the Fall September 19th

Enjoy a hands on adventure as you meet Peca Farm’s animal family! You will have lots of opportunities to pet animals inside the barn and outside! There are outdoor games, wagon rides (weather dependent), a weekly kids activity, and tons of photo opportunities for the whole family. Bring along some quarters to use in the feed machines for the animals.
Picnic area available with a view of the rolling hills!

Etwell Concert Series

September 27th & 30th

The Etwell Concert Series is a home concert venue that has moved the enjoyment outdoors and features live music in Huntsville, Muskoka.

Etwell Concert Series artists are internationally acclaimed musicians, including Juno-award-nominees and winners, as well as Maple Blues Awards nominees and winners. Opening acts are often local musicians.

The venue is a remote, private location in a country setting with an open pavilion to provide shelter from the elements. All shows are rain or shine. Chairs and benches are provided but you are welcome to bring your own as well.

Admission is a suggested $20 donation per person, with proceeds going to the artists. Donations can be made on site. Children are welcome at our outdoor concerts and admitted free of charge.

Tapestry of Emotions

Huntsville Art Society has a new shoe at Partners Hall from September 10-October 29. Come to see Sylvia Kerschl’s new show Tapestry of Emotions featuring landscapes in oil and acrylics. An opening reception will be held on September 18 from 5-7 at Partners Hall!

Sandhill Nursery’s Fall Festival

September 12th – October 25th

Celebrate the magic of fall at the Sandhill Nursery Fall Festival, returning September 12! Wander through incredible pumpkin displays and mazes, enjoy live music and entertainment, seasonal food, family-friendly activities and plenty of picture-perfect autumn moments.

Weekday admission is free, with advance tickets required on weekends. Plus, beginning September 24, experience the brand-new Fall Forest of Light, bringing the festival to life after dark with illuminated trails and themed evenings.

Hawksley Workman

September 18th & 19th

Hawksley Workman returns to Huntsville this September for two intimate performances at Sandhill Nursery as part of the Nursery Nights Performance Series. A JUNO Award-winning, Gold Record-certified singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Hawksley has spent more than two decades captivating audiences with his genre-defying blend of folk, pop, rock and cabaret. With 17 acclaimed albums and a catalogue filled with chart-topping hits, heartfelt ballads and theatrical showstoppers, he remains one of Canada’s most distinctive musical voices. Having performed more than 1,000 shows worldwide, Hawksley brings his extraordinary vocals, storytelling and infectious energy to the unique setting of Greenhouse #1 for an unforgettable evening.

About the Venue

The concert takes place in Greenhouse #1 at Sandhill Nursery. This 1800 sq ft space features an intimate performance space with charming rustic décor and great acoustics. The audience space is floor level sturdy folding chairs facing a raised stage. Seating is by General Admission. There is standing room on sides and in the back.

Audiences are invited to arrive early to explore Sandhill Nursery’s annual Fall Festival. Features include a pumpkin slingshot, two mazes, the scavenger hunt, cornhole games, art installations and more. Beverages will be available for purchase on site and as well as pizza from the Rusty Rake.

Billy Bishop Goes to War

September 19th

A Dramatic Musical Comedy About a Hero

This beloved show, and winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama, pays tribute to Canada’s iconic WW1 hero and flying ace, Billy Bishop, written and composed by John MacLachlan Gray and Eric Peterson. It combines humour and tragedy while reflecting on Canada’s colonial past and national identity, making it a unique and significant piece in Canadian theatre.

The two-man musical features actor Matt John Evans as the legendary Bishop. Evans also portrays an astonishing 15 other characters. His portrayal of Billy Bishop has received high praise, with one reviewer calling it “the best one I have ever seen” and “my favourite Billy Bishop ever,” describing Evans’ performance as a “tour de force.” Matt has appeared recently in CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries and Fellow Travellers on Paramount+. He has also appeared in Canadian feature films, including Beowulf & Grendel, Black Swan, and The Birder.

Heritage Workshops: Blacksmithing

Delve into the historical trade of blacksmithing at Muskoka Heritage Place with a local artisan blacksmith! You will be introduced to beginner blacksmithing techniques in our pioneer village’s blacksmith shop, where you will create an item that you can take home! Materials and equipment included. Ballet Jörgen Presents A Midsummer Nights Dream

Ballet Jörgen presents William Shakespeare’s classic comedy with a Canadian twist accompanied by Mendelssohn’s famous score. Ballet Jörgen’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will bring out the magic of Northern Canada’s woodland and tundra landscapes and creatures of the forest. The ballet is a tale of love and, often misguided, magic set in motion by the mischievous trickster Puck. This family-friendly short ballet will captivate audiences of all ages and will warm the hearts of young and old alike!
